Chirp, designed by Elena Amo for Moda Fabrics

How excited we all are at Bellarine Sewing Centre to finally have in store the adorable new collection called Chirp, designed by Elena Amo for Moda Fabrics. We have been waiting for this range to arrive since we first saw it with our sales rep.

With fabric names such as Friends, Daisy Field, Sweet Memories, Fly High, Trace A Bird, Leaf Me Here, Recollections, Just Stripes, Dots and Circles and Birds Eye View and colours named Dove, Afternoon, Twilight, Raincloud, Pebble, Clay, Cloud, Sky, Sunrise and Dusk, it just makes you feel like you are flying with the birds in nature.

This range has so many design opportunities with the small birds and flowers to the fabulous blenders. There are 33 designs in this collection, together with layer cakes, jelly rolls and charm squares.

Residing in the Woodlands, Texas, Elena Amo actually dreamed of becoming a ballerina as a child, but her artistic journey led her to becoming an Interior Designer and pattern designer when she was living in Calgary, Canada.

During her studies Elena developed a passion for choosing fabrics and wallpaper in her design projects. This then led her to become a pattern designer and now a fabric designer for Moda Fabrics.

Playful, cute, whimsical, carefree designs all stemming from childhood memories in nature and with her own children. Her art is characterized by its cute, playful, and detailed nature, reflecting a keen sense of color.  From sketchbook drawings of ordinary things, Elena finds joy in turning these designs into playful, magical designs while being inspired by the bold colours of her children’s art. This creates nostalgia and happiness with her beautiful designs.

Beyond her creative pursuits, Elena enjoys walking in the woods, collecting nature treasures, and rock climbing with her family.
